About the Teachers

Ryan Sklapsky

My teaching load will be 7-56 Math, 7-56 Science, 7-56 PE, and 9-5 PE. This is my seventh year at BLMS, teaching grade nine the first two years and grade seven the last five. Some of my interests include Rider football, Oiler hockey, volleyball, badminton, track and field and slo-pitch. I will be assisting at LCHS with Barons Football in the fall and with the Lancer track and field programs in the spring. I’ve also been director of the Rustlers Club Volleyball teams in the winter in Lloydminster for the last six years. I am excited to be back in the school and meeting new parents and students. Derek Hyland

I will be teaching 7-56 English, 7-56 Social 7-56 P.A., 9-12 PA, and 9-345 PA. This is my fourth year at BLMS. I interned here five years ago and taught my first year in Saskatoon with a program called "Let's Lead-Nikanetan". When I'm not teaching, I am involved in whitewater kayaking, canoeing, mountain biking, camping, hiking, and any kind of outdoor adventures. I also am very involved in performing arts and filmmaking. I will also be leading OLIE (Outdoor Ed) Club and Drama Club. I'm looking forward to a great year this year!
